Bibliography of Sources

Books

This page lists the main sources of information used in compiling camera histories on this site.
I am always looking for more books and articles of relevance. If anyone has scanned material to offer
I shall try to fit it in here too.

"Collector's Pictorial Encyclopaedia & Value Guide to 6x6 TLR Cameras"

 Karl F Kahlau, self-published, 2006

(This recently published Kahlau book has used my website extensively for research.  Whilst it credits me as a source, I was NOT asked for permission for the many photographs and materials taken from this website; I assume none of the other many sources (including published books) whose material was used were asked for their permission either.  The book is an interesting exercise, but is of poor overall quality and is also riddled with basic errors.  I do NOT recommend anyone to spend the $80 plus postage demanded for it).

"Historische Kameras aus Sammlungen der DDR"

Peter Klaffe & Hams Kleffe, VEB Fotokinoverlag, Leipzig, 1989

"Historische Kameras 1845-1970: Ein Handbuch für Sammler"

"Czech Cameras: Bratri Bradacove and Optikotechna"

Jan Trunec, Nakladatelstvi Jakoube, Prague, 2006

* McKeown's last update was published for 2005/6.  I have not purchased the update as it is an expensive publication, and because it contains very few updates in relation to the range of 6x6 TLRs.
